Rental Car Services

International and local car rental service is located at the Arrivals Hall.

Guests are advised to rent a car upon arrival at the airport or to book in advance, especially during peak season.

Qualified renters must be 21 with a valid driver's license and another identification card as additional proof of identity. Meanwhile, tourists must obtain an International Driving Permit.

Ride Shares

Rideshare services are rare in Sardinia. Therefore, we do not recommend this kind of transportation. Please look for other options.

Taxis

It is possible and convenient to hire a taxi to and from the downtown area of Alghero to reach the city's airport.

Downtown Alghero is only 10km to and from the airport, approximately 15 minutes by car.

There is no flat fee; however, taxis into the town center of Alghero cost €20.00 to €25.00.

Buses

Airport bus stops to all destinations are located outside the airport on the right side, about 150 meters from the arrival entrance.

Bus tickets should be purchased firsthand before boarding the bus. You can buy your bus tickets on the automatic vending machines inside the airport (ARST Machines), at the bus stop, online on the ARST website, at all authorized retailers, and in some tobacco and lotto shops. Tickets are €1,00.

Trains

Though there is a train station near the town center of Alghero, there is no train station that connects the Alghero town center to Alghero Airport. We recommend using another type of public transport. Additional information about train services near Alghero Airport.

Hotel Shuttles

Arriving Alghero Airport passengers with local hotel bookings may reserve their Airport Shuttles before arrival.

Most hotel accommodation in Alghero offers and provides shuttle services to their clients. Some may offer a complimentary shuttle service, while others apply a surcharge for the transfer assistance.

Parking at Alghero Airport

Alghero Airport has two types of car park areas that aim to satisfy every customer's needs.

The car parks are conveniently accessible from the internal road, which means inside the airport grounds, perfect for short-term and long-term parking:

  • P1 Executive Comfort, located within the airport road and a few steps from the arrivals and departures area.
  • P2 Holiday Low Cost is just 100 meters from the arrivals and departures terminal.

For the first 15 minutes, complimentary parking is offered for both types. Parking for up to 30 minutes costs € 1.50, and parking for up to 2 hours costs € 3.00.

Parking rates vary depending on the selected car park type and stay duration.

Reserved car parking is available for passengers with reduced mobility (PRM) bearing a valid DPR Mark 151/2012. They are free and can be found inside the Comfort Parking - P1 in front of the airport.

Subscriptions are also available and with unlimited use in P1 Executive Comfort and P2 Holiday Low-Cost parking lots.
